2015 ENLISTMENT INTO THE GHANA ARMED
FORCES
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY
1. Eligible applicant should:
a. Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth.
b. Be of good character.
c. Be not less than 20 years and not more than
25 years by 20th April, 2015 for Regular
Commission and not more than 35 years by 15th
April, 2015 for Short Service Commission.
d. Be medically fit by Ghana Armed Forces
standard.
e. Be not bonded.
f. Be not married (for Regular Officer
Candidates only).
g. Be of minimum height of 1.68m (5` 6“) for
males and 1.57m (5` 2“) for females.
For military police only; the minimum height for
male applicants should be 1.75m (5`9“) and
1.70m (5`7“) for females.
h. Must have the following:
(1) BECE.Must have six (6) passes at BECE
including English and Mathematics.
(2) Six credits. (Not less than C6) including Core
English , Core Mathematics and Core Science at
WASSCE .
Or
(3) Six credits. (Not less than D) including Core
English , Core Mathematics and Core Science at
SSSCE .
Or
(4) Five credits. (Not less than 6) including
English , Mathematics and Science at GCE ‘O’
Level and not less than D in three subjects at
GCE ‘A’ Level .

NAVY CANDIDATES
REGULAR OFFICER CANDIDATES
NAVY.
a. Executive Branch. In addition to the general
eligibility, applicants must have a Degree in any
of the following from a recognized University/
Institution:
(1) Nautical Science.
(2) Mathematics, Physics, Geography, Statistics.
(3) Computer Science.
(4) Oceanography or Geomantic Engineering.
b. Technical Branch. In addition to the general
eligibility, applicants must have a Degree in any
of the following from a recognized University/
Institution:
(1) Marine Engineering.
(2) Mechanical Engineering.
(3) Agricultural Engineering.
c. Supply and Secretarial Branch. In addition to
the general eligibility, applicants must have a
Degree in any of the following from a recognized
University or equivalent Professional Institution in
any of the following:
(1) Administration (HR/Accounting/Marketing/
Banking & Fin).
(2) Commerce.
(3) Port and Shipment Administration.
(4) Management Studies.
(5) Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
(6) Economics.
(7) Preference will be given to applicants with the
additional certificates in the following;
(i) Institute of Chartered Secretaries &
Administration (ICSA) – Final Part.
(ii) Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
(CIPS) – Level 5.
(iii) Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport
(CILT) – Final Part.
d. Public Relations. In addition to the general
eligibility, applicants must have Bachelor’s Degree
(BA, BFA, BSc, etc.) in any of the following from
a recognized University/Institution, plus one (1)
year working experience.
(1) Communication Studies.
(2) Broadcasting.
(3) Communication Design.
(4) Film and Television Production.
(5) Public Relations or Journalism.
